HEADCUT HIDDEN WORDS

It’s with great pleasure we announce the return of post-punk enthusiast Headcut aka London-based songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Holly Mullineaux. Picking up where debut single ‘Melters’ left off, Mullineaux’s darkly psychedelic new track ‘Hidden Words’ is centred around a pummeling rhythm section, angular interlocked guitarwork and non-chalant, breathy vocals. ‘Hidden Words’ wears its sonic influences of ESG, Delta 5 and Warpaint on its sleeve but somehow places itself apart and in a distinctly London context.  As on ‘Melters’, Bo Gritz’s Max Goulding again lends a helping hand to percussion and co-production duties. Speaking of the track Mullineaux states Hidden Words was written about the sudden realisation of an ugly truth, when someone’s not quite the person you thought they were and trying to separate yourself from that negative energy.” We’re quickly realizing Headcut is sure to be a major player in the underground UK guitar scene. -Karl Jawara
